Hi Everyone! My name is Alex Rosner and I am a guitar teacher currently based out of Metro Detroit, Michigan. I learned to play guitar going into the 9th grade, but am also trained in playing piano and violin.
Guitar is a great instrument to learn for both boys and girls, and can be picked up at any age. The youngest I have taught is around age 8 and have also given lessons to those in their later years, around 70 years old.
It is never too early or too late to pick up an instrument, and guitar is a great one! If you are interested in scheduling a lesson, feel free to check out my online calendar, pick a date and time, and input some personal information so I can reach out and confirm your interest and skill level.
If you would like to learn more before scheduling, you are welcome to email me at guitarbyalexR@gmail.com with your questions, or contact me by cellphone at
248-780-1361.
I look forward to speaking with you and hope that I can bring some music into your life!
1. I started taking piano lessons at age 7, and then took them until around 10th grade (high school).
2. I started learning violin in the 6th grade (middle school) and continued playing until the 10th grade.
3. I learned to play guitar at a summer camp in Wawa, Ontario going into the 9th grade from some awesome campers and staff.
4. I still play both guitar and piano (I hate to say that my violin has been gathering dust for some time). I play covers of songs (other people's music) as well as compose my own songs. The video "I've Been Walkin'" at the beginning of my webpage is an original song, recorded by John Katona, Tom Mihalis, and Brandon Klein at Bird Fight Records in Shelby Township, MI.
5. I have been teaching guitar for as long as I can recall, and enjoy teaching students the basics, how to compose their own songs, as well as using music to help students understand the struggles they face in life and ways to approach these struggles in order to excel. In this way, my lessons can also be thought of as a form of music therapy, although I do not have a formal degree in this subject matter.
Thanks for learning a bit more about myself. I hope this gives you some insight into who I am and if I would be a good fit to be your guitar teacher!
Feel free to reach out with any questions, inquiries, or to get started with your first lesson.
